Club Re-Opens Today...

The club re-opens today, Thursday July 29 with regular hours. Dinner will be served tonight.

Membership now has a Phone Number!

If you have questions on someone you are sponsoring or where you are on the Waiting List you can now call Bobbi or Jean on the Membership Committee. If they aren't in, leave a message and they will return your call. The number is 203-256-0380.

Dancing with the GAC Stars!

...has created quite a buzz and we have six members ready to jump, jive and wail! The committee is seeking just one more "star" member to join our other stars for this memorable night. Sorry ladies, all the female spots have been filled, but we are looking for a young male member to partake. If interested, contact Fran Tartamella at fitzmella@yahoo.com or at (203) 696-1404 or see her at the bar!

Mark your calendars for Saturday October 16th at 7pm where the club will host this dancing extravaganza. Ticket sales, participants and additional details will be announced in the August newsletter.

Just a reminder...

Our Senior Luncheon is vacationing in July and August. See you on Thursday, September 30th. Have a happy summer!

Fence Pictures

If you have not been down to the club lately, a wood Stockade Fence has been erected enclosing our grass yard to the West of the building allowing us to use it.
Fence Pictures can be found on the Photo Page

Please Note...

  • The tables in the Pub are arranged specifically to allow fire door access as well as member and staff accessibility.
  • Tables are NOT to be moved to accomodate large parties. The small dining room is available for larger parties.
  • Children are not allowed to dine unsupervised in any room.
  • For safety reasons, children are not allowed on the elevator or on the second floor of the club.

Your cooperation as a Club Member is appreciated.

Just a Reminder...

Weekend lunches are now suspended for the summer and will resume in September.

Gift Cards Available...

We are arranging for the issuance of gold GAC gift cards to be available to members. Please inquire at the Bar if you are interested in purchasing one.

For Your Convenience...

The Club now has a hostess on duty Wednesday through Sunday to facilitate seating in the Pub. If you are planning on having dinner, please give your name to the hostess when you arrive and she will make every effort to seat your party as soon as possible.

Social Committee Looking For Volunteers!

The Social Committee runs functions, events & activities for the enjoyment of the members of the GAC. We need volunteers to join this year's committee which runs from April 2010 through March 2011.
If you are interested in any of the following, please contact us:
Chairing an individual event, helping with Family Fun Night, helping with setup, decorations, etc. for one or more functions, chairing a portion of an event such as the program journal for the awards banquet or reservations for concert or dance or publicity, working on the float for Memorial Day Parade, helping on the grill for picnics, coming up with ideas for special events!
Some of the events presented in the past have been trivia, Christmas concert, chili cook off, country & western evening, awards banquet, picnic, boat rides, game night, wine tasting, Ceili, costume party, Cabarets by Dublin City Ramblers, Elders, Hair of the Dog and many more.

You've Got Pictures!

Thanks to Ed Hagerty, the menu button previously labled "Expansion" has been renamed to "Photos". Clicking it will bring you to the GAC Photo Albums which include Expansion photos, New Year's Eve photos, and photos from the Grand Re-Opening & Dedication. Please send us any pictures you have so that we can continue to expand our albums.

It Is The Law...

The State of Connecticut requires that all club members sign-in any and all non members they are bringing into the club.

If you do not comply with this law, you are putting the club's liquor license in jeopardy and you are also jeopardizing your own membership.

The sign-in book for non members is on the desk at the front entry.

Although we have a group of dedicated volunteers on the Failte Committee that greet and assist people entering the club, it is not staffed at all times. More volunteers are needed. It is a great way for new members to meet people. If interested, contact Sue Allen.
